The Deep Vibration

The Deep Vibration

Nashville's The Deep Vibration is a rock 'n' roll band steeped in the classics. Recalling country-rock legends like Elvis Presley, Hank Williams, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan, their debut EP Veracruz overflows with simple, straightforward passion. American Songwriter Magazine called the single "Tennessee Rose" (featuring Gillian Welch) "one of those songs that makes you stop what you're doing...[it] puts an original voice in a pair of very old shoes." Veracruz is exclusively available on Amie Street, two weeks before its release date -- and don't miss our interview with the band!

Department Of Eagles

Department Of Eagles

Before Daniel Rossen joined Grizzly Bear, he and his friend Fred Nicolaus formed Department of Eagles while roommates at NYU. The duo released their first album in 2003 and quietly worked on the songs for their second album while Rossen also recorded and toured with the hugely successful Grizzly Bear. Released today, In Ear Park features the experimental, psychedelic sound that is strongly associated with Grizzly Bear (all but one member play on the record!), but the main distinction between the two groups are the clear and concise songs written by Rossen and Nicolaus. Department Of Eagles have a distinguished sound that The New York Times describes as "graceful, surreal, inward-looking pop that finds both unadorned sorrows and elaborate, circus-like wonderment."

Jackson Browne

Jackson Browne

Legendary singer-songwriter and Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame inductee Jackson Browne is back with Time The Conqueror, his first album since 2002. Like much of Browne's previous work, this album is full of politically charged lyrics and tender references to times "long before the peace was lost." Despite the serious tone of Browne's lyrics, his signature tenor sounds as sweet as ever when he's singing about hope: "Do you feel it today? Love is still under way."

Jay Reatard

Jay Reatard

Inspired by Nirvana as a teenager, Jay Reatard began writing music at 15 (rather than going to high school). His rough pop songs caught the attention of Goner Records head Eric Friedl, and over the next twelve years Jay Reatard grew into a garage-punk hero. Matador Singles '08 collects some of his latest and best work, and in true punk spirit delivers songs like "An Ugly Death" and "You Mean Nothing To Me" with upbeat melodies and sock-hop cheer. Get to know the guy that the Houston Press calls "brief, brash and anything but boring."

Digital Underground

Digital Underground

Multi-platinum hip hop group Digital Underground is back with their first album in almost ten years! Keeping that funky humor and charm that made "The Humpty Dance" such a huge hit in the '90s, "..Cuz A d.u. Party Don't Stop!" is a bass-filled party rocker. Combining new studio tracks like the slow-rider "Cali Boogie" with hyped-up live recordings from a huge Bay Area show, this album proves that the DU family is still in the building.

Ezra Furman & The Harpoons

Ezra Furman and the Harpoons

After Ezra Furman & The Harpoons graduated from Tufts University, the band moved to Chicago to conquer the local music scene. Today they're releasing their hotly anticipated sophomore album Inside The Human Body, featuring twelve songs that range from frantic garage-rock to harmonica-filled folk. Aside from the raw energy that makes their live shows such an attraction, the group's biggest strength is Furman's voice; Paste describes it as "completely untamed... the kind that makes you jolt out of your seat... [the kind that] makes you see the whole crazy, beautiful world in new ways."
